Enter the fascinating world of forensic science as we learn practical applications of the scientific method and discover the many sides of investigative science. Students will challenge their critical thinking skills as they learn to use the tools of a CSI Investigator - including: fingerprinting, DNA analysis, handwriting analysis, ink chromatography, and much more! This course falls under the Communication, Critical Thinking and Personal and Social Institutional Level Outcomes.  

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Develop valuable critical thinking skills in which they will be able to gather, organize, and analyze data from various sources and apply that to their own projects
  • Understand and use many scientific tools used in forensic science
  • Understand the importance of the scientific method and how it can affect investigations
  • Understand the importance of critical thinking and using the right tool(s) for an investigation
