This is an introductory course designed to prepare students to take and pass the California Department of Public Health's Water Distribution Certification exams for the Grade D2 and Grade D3 licenses.  Students will also learn practical skills needed to seek employment or advancement in the water industry.  Topics include water distribution systems operation, administration, safety and maintenance, introduction to cross-connection control (Title 17), pipe materials, installation and repair, valves, water services and metering, reservoirs and pumps.
Students will:
  • learn basic through advanced math skills used in the water industry
  • learn hydraulic principals related to water transmission and storage
  • learn practical skills needed to seek employment or advancement in the water industry.
