Sustainable Science 6th - 8th Grade

Students in this hands-on course will build many creations that are powered using sustainable and renewable energy sources! Experiment with solar powered vehicle kits, compressed air and water powered systems, and harness the power of the wind! Explore the many possibilities of “green” power! This course falls under the Communication, Critical Thinking and Personal and Social Institutional Level Outcomes. No experience necessary.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Develop valuable critical thinking skills in which they will be able to gather, organize, and analyze data from various sources and apply that to their own projects
  • Understand the use of many renewable energies, and the science behind them
  • Understand the importance of using renewable energy and how it can help the planet
  • Understand the responsibility we have to use our resources wisely
