Google Publishing 6th - 8th Grade

Writing is an essential skill that students need to master to be proficient in school. In addition to being an effective writer, students also need to successfully communicate their ideas and publish their works of art. In the Google Publishing class, students will learn how to use Google Slides and Sites, as well as an online book publishing site to make a production out of their written work. Students will be learning how to compile projects such as newsletters, brochures, website pages, to publishing their own ebook. They will be learning tasks such as manipulating images, links, and videos within the various programs. Upon the completion of the course, students will gain knowledge in creating projects that use text and various forms of graphics, audio, and video to communicate ideas. Students must be proficient with basic writing and knowledge of word processing. This course falls under the Communication, Critical Thinking and Personal and Social Institutional Level Outcomes.  

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 
  • Use a variety of age-appropriate technologies to communicate and exchange ideas
  • Create projects that use text and various forms of graphics, audio, and video to communicate ideas
  • Publish their own ebook online
