This course teaches adult, child and infant CPR and First Aid. It teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical services personnel arrive. The course also provides a complete health and safety training solution for first aid, adult, child, infant, and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator).

This class is good for teachers, coaches, fitness club workers, foster parents, and the general public.

This course falls under the Critical Thinking and Personal, Social, Civic, and Environmental Responsibility Institutional Level Outcomes (ILOs).   

Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Effectively treat sprains, open wounds, and other first aid situations
  • Correct hand placement for compressions for adult/child/infant CPR
  • Learn how to use an Epi-pen for allergic reactions
  • Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival
  • Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • Recognize when someone needs CPR
  • Preform high-quality CPR for an adult
  • Describe how to preform CPR with help from other bystanders
  • Give effective breaths by using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
  • Use an AED on an adult
  • Preform high-quality CPR for an infant
  • Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child
  • Help a choking infant
  • Describe how to help someone with drug overdose emergencies
  • Describe the techniques that help prevent drowning emergencies
