In this fun, hands-on class, student will learn the basics of Photoshop and Illustrator through step-by-step tutorials, warm-up activities, and creative projects. Each lesson will introduce new tools and techniques, allowing students to experiment and build on their design skills. By working on a variety of projects, students will gain confidence in digital art while exploring their creativity in a relaxed and engaging environment. This course falls under the Communication, Critical Thinking, Information and Technology Literacy, and Personal, Social, Civic, and Environmental Responsibility Institutional Level Outcomes (ILOs).  

Upon completion students will:
  • Learn the basic tools and functions of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
  • Create and design projects using different shapes, colors, and texts (for grades 3rd-5th) or tools, layers, and effects (for grades 6th to 8th) to build confidence in their graphic design work
  • Utilize problem-solving skills as they learn to incorporate new tools in experimenting, designing, and completing small projects
