This course meets medical related requirements. Covers adult, child, and infant choking, heart attack, and stroke. 1 & 2 rescuer CPR and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) barrier devices. Course Completion cards will be sent via email (eCards). Please make sure your student profile is current.

This class is for anyone wanting to work in a medical related field. (Nurses, CNAs, Psych Tech, etc.)
This course falls under the Critical Thinking and Personal, Social, Civic, and Environmental Responsibility Institutional Level Outcomes (ILOs).
Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the importance of high-quality CPR and its impact on survival
- Describe all the steps of the Chain of Survival
- Apply the BLS concepts off the Chain of Survival
- Recognize when someone needs CPR
- Preform high-quality CPR for an adult, a child, and an infant
- Describe the importance of early use of an AED
- Demonstrate the appropriate use of an AED
- Provide effective ventilation by using a barrier device
- Describe the importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation
- Perform as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
- Describe how to relieve foreign-body airway obstruction for an adult, a child, and an infant
